R134A is a very common HFC refrigerant used in both medium and high temperature refrigeration. The main areas of application are home appliances, commercial and transport refrigeration, home and office refrigeration systems, industrial refrigerators. In the last dozen or so years, it was the predominant refrigerant used in automotive air conditioning systems and other mobile applications (agricultural machinery, heavy road equipment). R-134A is often used as a component of HFC mixtures. As a replacement for R12 or R22, the oil needs to be replaced with PAG or POE. The prospective replacement will be R1234yf
