R407C is an HFC mixture developed to replace R22 from the HCFC (chlorofluorocarbons) group in air conditioning systems. This refrigerant is used in home and commercial residential air conditioning systems as well as in heat pumps and direct evaporation systems. Sometimes it is also used in medium-temperature refrigeration plants. Used as a replacement in existing installations with R22 requires a retrofitting procedure (oil change).
