A refrigeration system may contain a whole range of contaminants, leading to malfunctions and, consequently, to premature wear and tear of its components and failure of the equipment. It is therefore necessary to install a water filter in each unit filled with a limited water solubility. Non-separable filters with a filter cartridge enclosed in a welded housing must be replaced with new ones after use. Saturation with dirt or moisture of the filter-drainer causes an increase in flow resistance (pressure drop). There is a noticeable difference between inlet and outlet temperatures and vapour bubbles in the sight glass of the liquid (secondary refrigerant deficiency).
