Reduction valve with 1/2" ACME left female thread and 1/2"-20UNF( 5/16"SAE) right male thread for connecting a 1kg cylinder for R32 or R1234yf refrigerant to the service hose for filling the system . As R32 belongs to the flammable refrigerant group (ASHARE A2 safety group), a different thread is used for its packaging (unlike most HFCs) to eliminate the risk of accidentally connecting the wrong cylinder to the system. Therefore, in order to use R32 refrigerant in a 0.78g cylinder, it is necessary to obtain a suitable valve, which allows connection to standard hoses with 1/2" 20UNF( 5/16"SAE) internal threads.
