The advantages of this approach are small size and variable-capacity.  As with its predecessors, the BD50F does require the use of an electronic power module.  Like all electronics, the power module is extremely reliable as long as it is properly installed and does not overheat.

NOTE:  The BD50F compressor requires a Power Module to run.  The same power module is used for 12vdc and 24vdc systems.  The module must be purchased separately from the compressor.  There are three types of modules to choose from, the standard power module (010-1175), the Adaptive Energy Optimizing (AEO) module (010-1176), or the High Start module (010-1178).  The AEO module is more energy efficient as the compressor will always adapt its speed to the actual cooling demand.  The High Start module provides additional starting torque  and is more dependable in turning the system on.
